Our Compassionate Mental Health Care
At Juan Cabrera Jr., MD & Associates, we focus on improving our patients’ mental health and wellness. We use various treatment methods. We are innovative in our approach to offer medication-resistant psychiatry services. Our practice offers evaluations and medication management, plus compassionate and professional counseling. We offer specialized services which include Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation, Spravato, Acupuncture, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, Mindfulness, sports mental coaching, and GeneSight®.
Specialized Services
Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation
Dr. Cabrera is the only psychiatrist in the area who is currently offering transcranial magnetic stimulation. It is FDA-approved for Treatment-Resistant Depression (failure to respond to two different antidepressants). The process consists of placing an electromagnetic coil on your forehead, which then sends painless pulses to the brain. Research has shown the response rate with TMS exceeds that of antidepressants. Mindfulness
Mindfulness meditation is an evidence-based practice approach that is effective in reducing symptoms associated with anxiety and depression. Our providers are skilled in guided meditation.
Sports Mental Coaching
Athletes deal with a unique blend of pressure and stress. Our providers assist athletes with the mental blocks and challenges that can often act as a barrier to athletes performing at their fullest potential.
Spravato
Derived from Ketamine, Spravato (esketamine) is delivered as a nasal spray. It is FDA-approved for Treatment-Resistant Depression as well as Major Depression with suicidal thoughts or actions.
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a psychotherapy that enables people to heal from the symptoms and emotional distress that are the result of disturbing life experiences.
GeneSight® Psychotropic Testing
GeneSight Psychotropic is a pharmacogenomic test that analyzes clinically important genetic variations in your DNA. The results of the test can inform your doctor about genes that may impact how you metabolize or respond to certain medications commonly prescribed to treat depression, anxiety, ADHD, and other mental health conditions.
